SCM Life Science (CEO Song Sun-uk) has obtained New Excellent Technology (NET) certification granted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.

SCM Life Science, a company specializing in developing stem cell treatments, announced on the 13th that it has received a new technology certification for the "fraction culture method for high purity stem cell separation" from the Korea Health Industry Promotion Agency in Osong, Chungcheongbuk-do.

Song Sun-uk, CEO of SCM Life Sciences, said, "The acquisition of new Excellent technology certification has been nationally recognized for its excellence in layer separation culture technology. We will continue to grow into a leading company in the global stem cell treatment market through continuous R&D and successful clinical trials."

SCM Life Science' “Subfractionation Culturing Method” technology can quickly acquire single-cell-derived adult stem cell groups from relatively small amounts of bone marrow, identify the characteristics of stem cell groups, and separate and cultivate high-purity stem cells that can exert the most suitable efficacy for each disease. SCM Life Sciences has completed patent registration in major countries such as the United States, Europe, Japan, and China as well as domestic patents for the technology.

SCM Life Science is developing stem cell treatments for various immune diseases using "“Subfractionation Culturing Method” for high purity stem cell separation." Stem cell therapy for Graft versus host disease is currently in phase 2 clinical trials and plans to officially release it after obtaining product approval in 2019 when clinical trials are successfully completed.

Meanwhile, new health technology certification is a certification granted to new technologies developed by domestic companies, research institutes, and universities, and certified companies can benefit from using NET marks for three years from the date of NET certification. In addition, benefits such as technology development funds, technology transfer and commercialization by the Korea Health Industry Promotion Agency, exhibition support, technical guidance and domestic and international quality certification acquisition support, and priority purchase requests from state institutions and public institutions.
