The company attended the International Conference 2016 (SRGC 2016) hosted by the Global Stem Cell and Regenerative Medical Research and Development Promotion Center (GSRAC) held at the Pangyo Biotech Complex for two days from August 23 to 24 and made oral presentations about mass production of stem cell treatments.

 

The SRGC 2016, an event sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, has been organized since 2013 as a venue for global leaders in stem cell and regenerative medicine to share information on policy and regulatory trends in major countries and discuss the latest technologies.

 

With the theme of 'Overcoming obstacles in the development of the advanced regenerative medical industry', this year's main discussion topics include changes in relevant laws, systems and policies in the United States, Europe, Japan, and China, and cell manufacturing technology, an important issue that needs to be overcome for the development of the cell therapy industry. Sun Uk Song, CEO of our company, gave a lecture on the second afternoon on the topic of 'Manufacture of Clinical-grade Clonal MSC Products from Single Colonies of Cells Based on the “Subfractionation Culturing Method”'. In addition, Dr. Bernard Siegel, president of the U.S. Regenerative Medicine Foundation and founder of the World Stem Cell Summit, delivered the keynote on the first day, and Dr. Robert Nerem, chair professor at Georgia Institute of Technology, who on the second day. A total of 15 people from major policy and research institutes in the US, UK, Canada, Japan, and China etc had heated discussions along with presentations of the latest information with a total of 10 speakers and panelists in Korea.

 

GSRAC Center Director Park So-ra will help set the direction for the government, companies, and researchers to contemplate and solve for the development of the advanced regenerative medical industry through 'SRGC 2016' and working with other countries will help find ways to gain global leadership, she said.
